The name EntityNet (also a CML and API key-word) refers to the services of the specific iConceptStore system component EntityNet.exe, which along with other related components provides most of the iConceptStore run-time functionality. Running in a separate process as a Windows service, it plays the central executive role of a multi-modelbase engine. In this sense all customer programs are either its in-process C++ extensions or out-of-process COM clients. The term EntityNet is also used as a modelling category to denote the set of inter-connected persistent entities (concepts) in the sharable modelbase on secondary storage plus any client-specific transient entities, generated at run-time within the current client modelling space in memory and dynamically linked to cached fragments of the related persistent modelbase parts.
